Art Happenings & Events
Come to Trafalgar Square at 2pm on Saturday 14 February and invite people to share messages of thankfulness for the love they share with their close friends and family, because we can :)
This event is part of an ongoing art project called 11 Million Hands for 11 Million Lives :https://www.facebook.com/11millionhands with one hand representing one life and an ongoing search around the world for hand photos from all cultures. Bringing equality and peace to the world through love for all human life regardless of our differences. This is an collaborative event between the organisation focallocal.org and the project #11millionhands for 11 Million Lives by artist Franceska McCullough. Which is a reminder never to forget the lives lost of people who were loved by so many close to them during the Holocaust; and Focallocal will be remembering by celebrating the love we have and remembering to tell those most special in our lives. We are also twisting the idea that valentine's should not just be about your romantic love, which can make many people feel lonely - why not celebrate everyone we love in our lives? :) This could be the day you choose to remember a lost loved one by writing a message on your hands to honour someone while also offering your hands and your love to the #11millionhands project. Lost loves could be absent loved ones or just loved ones now whom you cannot live without and want to honour for what they mean to you. If it rains you'll find us in the Royal Festival Hall, give Andy at Focal Local a call if you aren't sure 07479762254.
